Invitation to join our Homeschooling group

I have been homeschooling for over 9 yrs. I wanted to create a group to help others that homeschool in our county the chance to better their children, their families and their lives. We can share documents, plans, social gathering dates, and curriculum. We will also be planning events such as parties, field trips and dances. Please join. This is not a co-op, where others teach your children.

What Lead Us To Homeschool....

In 2014, Our daughter Danielle started 1st grade at an elementary school. She was thrilled and made friends easily. She even had friends over occasionally. She was invited to other people's houses and birthday parties. I called her my social butterfly, but she had a bully. At times, after school, she would tell me that a kid would tease her, step on her feet, and pull her hair on purpose. I didn't think much of it, kids being kids. But Danielle didn't agree, I thought she had a great first year of school that year. I told her if it continued the next year, I would do something or at least say something to the teacher, counselor, etc.

In August 2015, school started back earlier in the week. It was a Friday morning Craig had just come home from work. Danielle and I were getting ready to bring her to school. She noticed that he wasn't feeling well and was concerned. He drove himself to the hospital where later we found out that he had a heart attack as he arrived the hospital. Danielle being the concerned child she is/was, didn't want to go to school that day. She wanted to be with her dad. However, I promised to call her as soon as I knew what was going on and how he was. I dropped her off at school and went straight to the hospital in the next town over, where I found out that he was being transferred. The local hospital was not equipped to handle his case. Needless, to say the new hospital watched him all weekend and performed quadruple by-pass surgery on the following Tuesday.

The next eight months were hard because Danielle was worried about her dad... and she was still being bullied by the same kid from the year before. I spoke to the teacher, and she stated that she would watch the children but she hadn't noticed anything unusual. About a week or two later, things were getting even worse for Danielle. More bullying, she was crying when she came home, and she didn't want to go to school. I found myself back at the school again, this time to speak to the counselor and the principal. By the time, the end of the school year came, nothing had been done or said to the child or parents. I was told the child had ADHD and autism and that nothing could be done. The last day of 2nd grade in May 2016, was the last time Danielle or I set foot in a public school. I have been homeschooling Danielle and her younger sister since.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Years from our house to yours!! May your stockings be hung with care, in hopes that St. Nicholas be kind to you this year. Good health to you and your families during this VERY cold season. I would have thought it was already winter but it's not. It won't be winter for a couple more days. We have had a rough season so far and I'm already ready for Spring.

October Already?!

OMG!! It's October already. Where did this year go? With a blink of an eye it will be New Years.

Well, as the holiday season is quickly approaching us... please remember those who can't be among you especially. Those who we have once loved, love now and that have passed will be dearly missed. We pray that someday we will be with them again soon. But until then, we can only treasure the days and those we love more and more each day. Please remember the families that cannot be together during the holiday season. My family being one of them... we are spread over the entire US. And what should be the most joyous of all occasions is usually the most depressing for me, because I can't be with my entire family.

With the holiday season comes the cold and bitter temperatures as well. Please dress warm and drive safe. Also, remember to bring in those pets of yours. We wouldn't want any puppies or kitties to feel neglected either.

4th of July Holiday

We hope everyone remembers to stay safe this upcoming 4th of July weekend. We are anxious to celebrate this year with Danielle as she is a little older and enjoys watching lights. Aubin is planning on taking her to the fireworks herself and hopes Dani does enjoy it as much as she did when she was little.

Please have fun and enjoy the summer! We will be traveling the 2nd week of July to visit family and have a little family vacation. We will post pictures from the vacation when we return.

Danielle's Party

Well, it was a great day for a "Party in the Park". Danielle had fun playing in the park with her Oma. She had some family come all the way from North Carolina to spend the weekend with her. She enjoyed opening all of her presents and eating her special birthday cupcake. She blew out her own candles.

Mommy and Oma then took her to the park where she got to swim with Mommy for about 5 minutes before they closed it for the day. But it was worth it.

We hope everyone has a safe weekend. Stay cool! Don't drink and drive! And remember your loved ones you have lost and our fellow Americans who are fighting overseas.

We are having a Birthday Party on Sunday for Danielle - Our little baby has turned 2 on the 20th of May! We are blessed that she is so healthy and growing up... but why does she have to so fast? :)

We just want to welcome you to our family site and say that we appreciate and love every one of you. Thank you for being there especially when times got hard for us. We wouldn't have gotten where we are today with out the help of you, our family and friends.
